All types of glass installed-- Auto/Truck/RV/Bus/Marine/Custom Car and Truck/Antique Vehicle/Heavy Equipment/Residential including Laminated Safety Glass, Tempered Safety Glass, and Poly-Carbonate ( Lexan ). as well as Insulated Double Pane Windows.   In the case of modern, bonded-in windshields, every proper preparation step is taken, including applying urethane primer on the bonding contact area surfaces. This ensures the windshield always remains safely bonded in the opening, protecting passengers from harm, whether by an outside foriegn object or in the case of an accident, the air bag will do the job intended by design.  Modern Air-Bag equipped vehicles rely on a securely bonded windshield to provide the foundation to the air bag in an impact event, in order to do it's intended design function, which is keeping passengers seated inside the vehicle, off the dashboard, and away from the glass which may shatter from the impact.     Proper windshield installation really is a matter of life and death, or at the very least, preventing unnecessary injury.  Always make sure that who ever installs your windshield, proper prep steps are done, especially the use of urethane primer. If they don't mention that they use urethane primer, and you have to ask, that could be a red flag.  It's something they would want to brag about.

We have decades of experience restoring/installing glass, rubber, channel, guides, regulators, and related parts on older classic and antique vehicles. Most came with flat safety glass which we can cut and polish edges to match original. A lot of the channelling and weathersrtipping used is common, generic, and still available today. Some of it is specialized for that windshield or back glass only (usually curved glass).  Usually the customer prefers to purchase these items as part of a kit from a supplier they prefer. That is fine with us, but the customer should be aware that the different supplier's rubber quality can vary from close to OEM, to some poor after market versions. The professional selling that gasket doesn't know what quality it is unless they personally install that part on a regular basis. When using old, original, brittle glass such as the picture above, using a poorly reproduced, (very hard or stiff) gasket puts extreme stresses on that old glass, (or even a new one).  Every care is taken to perform this operation in the most gentle, careful manner, but no one can assume responsibility for the sucess of installing glass in a hard, stiff gasket. It's really not possible to know how good the gasket is until you take it out of the box and check it.  Some reproduction gaskets are very soft and supple and more likely to allow the installation to go in with less stress on the glass. Some have been sitting in that box on a shelf for years,- Not good either. The windshield pictured above has hazing and lamination separation all across the bottom, common for a piece of glass that has been baking in the sun for in this case 60 years,-(1953). Generally better quality, supple gaskets cost more, but enable a better install. We are glad to work and inform our customers of all the aspects of their restoration.

All types of window screening fabricated and installed specializing in Solar Control sun blocking fabric for rooms that are difficult to keep cool. Solar screens allow air conditioners the ability to operate more efficiently, experience less problems requiring service, and most importantly, lower energy consumption and lower electric bills. Usually south and west facing windows experience the most problems, but east and north facing windows may benefit as well. In addition to solar heat gain as a result of the suns rays being magnified through the glass pane, heat can also be transfered by convection through the window frame and glass themselves. This is why insulated double pane windows are helpful. Window film applied to the inside of the glass can help, but can't stop heat transfer by convection through the materials themselves. Full solar screens are on the outside, covering up to 100% of the entire window, keeping the sun from ever falling upon the window, greatly reducing heat transfer through the materials.

Solar Screen frames are color matched to existing windows allowing them to blend in naturally to the homes appearance.  They enhance curb appeal and eliminate the need to keep blinds and drapes closed allowing natural day light in without the glare.  Solar screens enhance privacy for inside occupants making it more difficult to see inside.

Picture
Solar Screens are a good compromise for older buildings constructed with single pane non-insulated windows as upgrading to double pane insulated can be very high by comparison. Even double pane insulated windows can benefit for the same reasons as single pane, but they can have a different form of value added benefit, --- The fact that they themselves won't be subjected to the once a day, day after day cycle of heating up and cooling down, --- This airspace expansion and contraction every day is what leads to their failure/leaking/fogging.
